Transmission Club
w/ Dan O Keeffe & Band
Thurs 13th April
Doors 9pm – No Cover

“They’re a six-piece from Cork and they make damn good tunes”

– Dan Hegarty, 2FM

Formed in 2014 as the bedroom recording project of Michael Prendiville, Transmission Club is quickly becoming one of the most unique live acts in the Irish music scene.

The band’s diverse sonic palette combines elements of indie, folk and grunge, textured with harmonium, violin, keyboards, guitars, drum machines and loops.

Recording takes place in bedrooms and living rooms, allowing for songs to be captured organically in the spur of the moment, giving the music a raw, untrammelled feel.

In November 2015, Transmission Club released Salt, an E.P. collection of demos. Salt gained airplay on The Alternative with Dan Hegarty (2fm), The Paul McLoone Show (Today FM) and on 8Radio. Transmission Club also recorded a live session for The Paul McLoone Show in January 2016. Salt was voted No.1 in The Last Mixed Tape’s Reader’s E.P of the Year 2015 Poll.

Tranmission Club has played extensively around Ireland, garnering notable support slots with Otherkin, Cry Monster Cry, The Vincent(s) and Barry Sutton (The La’s). They also featured at the Clonakilty International Guitar Festival 2016.

“Salt works as a solid introduction into Transmission Club’s music,” said The Last Mixed Tape, “but the most exciting aspect is how this sound expands in the future.”

Transmission Club are currently recording the follow up to Salt with Chris Somers (Elastic Sleep, The Vincent(s), Ian Whitty, African Fiction) which will be released later this year. A national tour to promote the release will be announced in the coming months, with slots already confirmed for Townlands Carnival 2017

Dan O’Keeffe and Band

Dan O’Keeffe is a singer/songwriter based in Cork city, Ireland. Taking influence from artists such as Radiohead, Damien Rice and Kings of Leon, his sound is characterised by emotive lyrics meshed with the hard catchy riffs only his band can provide. This creates Dan’s own unique blend of indie folk rock that captures the ear and the imagination. Not one to be missed.
