Samhain is the Celtic celebration of the ending of light and the beginning of the darker months of the year and the celebration and acknowledgement of life and death. It is believed that at Samhain the veil between this world and the “other” world opens and contact and connection between both worlds are possible.
This year’s theme is “The book of the Dead” and we will be celebrating different aspects and concepts of death and dying and mythologies and beliefs around it.
There will be a curated parade with different sections representing the different aspects and spokes of the Wheel of Death. The parade will be followed by a “Pucca” section where everyone is invited to follow their own interpretation of this years theme and create their own costumes and join the fun.
Come along and celebrate Samhain 19 with us.
Allow yourself to be moved through the veils and enchanted by everything wordly and otherworldly you might encounter.
Samhain 19 is brought to life by Geata Arts, a voluntary, not for profit community arts group.
