among some very good company.
In 2013 DeBarras featured in the independent documentary ‘The Irish Pub’“ which received rave reviews and went on to show in cinemas and clubhouses throughout the world. This film is a beautiful and at times melancholic ode to the dwindling family run Irish pub and features ‘distinguished contributions from the gentle Brennan sisters of Bundoran, the chatty Eugene Kavanagh from The Gravediggers in Glasnevin, and Ray and Bobby Blackwell of De Barra’s in Clonakilty.’
REVIEWS: 7.4/10 – IMDb
The Picture is delightful throughout and makes for an implicit (but forceful) argument for the magnificence of the traditional Irish pub” -The Irish Times
“A joy from start to finish, The Irish Pub takes a place amongst a list of the best documentaries I have ever seen” – RTE Ten
“The Irish Pub, a lovingly laid-back documentary about the charms, liquid and otherwise, of the traditional Irish watering hole.” – The Washington Post
“If you love Ireland or if you love pubs, and I’m guessing that covers just about everyone, you’re going to want to see Alex Fegan’s disarmingly modest documentary “The Irish Pub.” – The Boston Herald
“The Irish Pub is a pictureesque yet realistic documentary about life in Ireland’s drinking establishments.”, “… might bring a tear to your eye.” – The Boston Globe
