Michael D. Higgins will be visiting Clonakilty this 5th of May and the Ceili -Allstars will be out to greet him in DeBarra! Hup!
This young energetic trad band held a Sunday residency in the Lobby Bar in Cork for many years as well as playing last year’s Guitar Festival. They play De Barras the last Sunday of every month so put it in your book!
Featuring members of Stanley Super 800 and other fine Cork musicians these sessions spill with Craic agus Ceol. Situated in the front bar, it's not to be missed.
Ha Ha Tonka (US)
Ultimately, what makes the Ha Ha Tonka brand of Southern rock so special is that it’s authentic, it’s effortless, and it never comes across as forced. They are masters at bringing together the traditional and the modern. They sit at the crossroads of Americana and indie.
Named after Ha Ha Tonka State Park in their native Missouri, the group’s relentless touring has seen them become one of the most buzzed about young bands in America, appearing at Lollapalooza, Sundance Film Fest, SXSW, CMJ while touring nationally as a headlining act, as well as supporting many great bands such as Old 97s, Murder By Death, Langhorne Slim, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Someone Still Loves You, Boris Yeltsin, Ludo, Meat Puppets and more.

At the heart of this popular weekly session are a collection of musicians & songsters, whose combined experiences of performing, locally and internationally, along with their diverse musical interests produce a vibrant, but easy going experience of the best in traditional music & ballads.

Dennis Noonan on Bodhrán & bones sings in a uniquely laid back style, drawing material from his native Dublin as well as Ulster & Scotland. The late Frank Harte would have thrilled at his deliveries of some of the more humourous and bawdy ballads.

As the original Bass player with The Jimi Hendrix Experience Noel’s contribution to rock n roll’ will echo throughout musical history. As a member of this band Noel helped redefine the face of music and popular culture, helping the Jimi Hendrix Experience to become one of the most recognisable and influential bands of all time!
With Clonakilty as Noel’s home for the last 27 years of his life, this seaside town has an envious claim to its own place in Hendrix’s musical history. While living in West Cork many of rocks legends including David Bowie, Eric Bell (Thin Lizzy), Paul McCartney, Donovan, Bob Dylan and Mitch Mitchel (the Hendrix Experience drummer) would visit Noel and sit in on sessions in DeBarra’s, Shanleys & elsewhere throughout the town.

they have toured in the uk, japan, and europe and may appear in many guises: solo, duo, psychedelic rock-formation, 4-4-2, unplugged acoustic gigs, choir workshops, homeshows, busking etc.
They have had the pleasure of supporting people like Jeffrey Lewis, Herman Dune, Jose Gonzales, John Parish, the National, Jolie Holland and Jil Is Lucky

Stanza Traffic are the latest Clonakilty youngsters to have fallen into the cauldron of magical music potion only to emerge fully formed with talent way beyond their years! Blues, reggae, rock, ska, jazz.... you name it, they nail it! Superstars in the making the level of musicianship & promise on display from these pups is nothing short of dis heartening for many older professional musicians!

Ger Wolfe Trio
Ger Wolfe, known as the Lark of Mayfield is one of the most unique talents to have emerged from the Irish folk scene in the last 30 years, his unique song writing style blends folk poetry & gorgeous melodies with amazing nylon stringed flights of whimsy & gentle beauty.
This evening will see Ger present the West Cork debut of his new Trio featuring Martin Leahy (drums) & Shane Scanlon (guitar)

A founding member of Ireland’s most celebrated World Music band Kíla, Rónán Ó Snodaigh is recognized as one of Ireland's best and most innovative bodhrán players and a highly original singer songwriter. Described by John Walsh (Hot Press) as 'the living embodiment of Turlough O Carolan and Bob Marley', and by a fan as ‘…The Jimi Hendrix of Bodhrán'
Rónán mixes the Irish Language, which is his first language of song writing , bluesy grooves with wild percussion to create his unique organic sound.
